No Problem; I think I missed an "r" out on your name earlier...

Can you please attach a 1,5 fcpxml and I'll see whether I can fix it up enough to get you going?

Hi again Graham.

After yesterday's failures today I continued working on another Library and timeline in FCPX.

After importing the FCPX XML into X2Pro the same crash occurred again.

I've attached the crash report and the XML in a zip file to this message.

I purchased X2Pro just 2 days ago. Right now I'm holding out hope that this issue will be fixed.

I need to tell the audio house a timeline for delivery.

Please advise.

Thanks

David

I get the same crash when I try to load the fcpxml into X2Pro here. I have escalated it and will let you know when I hear something.

HI Graham,

thanks for your reply.

Please find attached a zip file containing textedit doc w the Problem report copy/pasted in
also the XML (v1..6)

Acting on your suggestions I tried enabling "discard transitions" - no luck. still crashes.

I tried exporting a v1.5 XML.. On import I got "Unable to Parse XML file"

info copy/pasted below.

Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks,

David

Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information

Details:
Getting asset with Id r310
Unable to find asset with Id r310
Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);

Hi Davathar,

I will need a bit more information in order to be able to investigate...

When X2Pro 4.0.12 crashes, a window should appear explainging that it quit unexpectedly. Click the "Report..." button and another window should appear with two panels containing text. Select the text from the bottom section title "Problem Details and System Configuration" and copy/paste it into a TextEdit document.
Save that document and attach it here with the FCPXML file that you were trying to convert.

A couple of things that you could try (please let me know if either of them work):
  • Try exporting v1.5 and 1.6 fcpxmls from FCP X
  • Try enabling the "discard transitions" setting in X2Pro's preferences

Hello Graeme,

My Mac version is 10.12.3. Final Cut Pro X and X2Pro 4.0.12

When I export an AAF it always quits unexpectedly. It works a bit then quits.

James Carrick dealt before with my issue. At one point he gave me a different version but with a temporary licence which worked. But then it expired.
I upgraded my Mac to Sierra, but it still doesn't work.

Is there a possibility to get a version that works again but with permanent license?

Thank you very much!

What is the error?
What macOS version are you using now?
What version of X2Pro are you using now?
What version of Final Cut Pro are you using now?

We will endeavour to help, but if you feel that you need a refund, you will have to contact Apple because that is who you purchased it from.

Hello,

I've updated my OS and I tried to export an AAF using X2Pro. Unfortunately it's giving me the same error again.

Is there a possibility to get a different version that can be permanent? Like the one to sent me a few months ago. Or at least get my money back? It's getting annoying.

Thank you very much for your help!

Hello James,

I've sent the Host ID as requested and I received an email that Jeremy Norwood is out of the office until 31 oct.

Could I please have someone else giving me the license?. I need to deliver a project and I"ve already spent quit some time with this issue.

Thank you again for your help!

Dear Reddog,

Will pop you a mail, we think the issue might be related to the implementation of AVFoundation, as such we will supply another version of the code.

Yours Sincerely

James
