Thank you for the response.
If you could try again, would you open the Mac Activity Monitor and look for a process called "QTKitXPC" and take a screenshot of the Activity Monitor window.
Also could you open the Mac console, clear it and then when you attempt the conversion, copy out the details and give those to us as well.
This will enable us to know if the system memory is being used up during the process, or what else may be going on.
Many thanks and let us know how you get along

So i tried the beta version on the project wich was unable to parse.
An error occurred converting Final Cut XML to AAF
Writing AAF file
Adding assets to AAF file
Adding essence for asset [791_0306] to AAF file
Opening audio extractor for portion 0 of asset [791_0306]
Failed to initialise audio extractor with default bit depth of 16
Error Timed out waiting for XPC response
Suggestion: Check Console for errors.
No AAF file has been generated.
X2Pro Audio Convert (Beta) 3.0.10
I think your software don't like FS7 Media or AVC-I at all, because it's the only link between thoses projects (as it's working with Canon's H264) :'(

Hi Jeremy!
Sorry i didn't try yet, i had to do the sound mix by myself because of deadlines.
By the way, i downloaded the last version of X2Pro on the appstore. The soft is working great with Canon 5D medias, but we still have issues with our FS7 medias (AvcI / shot in 4k). When importing the XML, X2pro is running infinitely at first step "Parsing FInal Cut XML" and the soft stop responding.
One problem chase another. :/
I try the beta and i tell you what's new !

Have you had a look at the BETA version of software that James provided over email?
Did it resolve your XPC issue you were having, or do you still get errors with that software?

Dim,
The error message that you got originally, we did not expect to be fixed inside of the X2Pro code, because the problem seems to be an issue with the way FCP referenced the files and not with X2Pro reading them.
We attempted in our lab to do a test with files in a FCP X project that we selected to "Leave File in Place" when we were importing the media and FCP referenced the files in the XML to their correct place. Not to a file that are really just shortcuts to the actual file (wherever that may be).
See if you can try re-importing that media and get FCP to use the proper references to the media instead of referencing files that are actually just shortcuts to the real media.

Hi James & Jeremy,
Thanks for the older code. So i deleted the actual 3.0.5 and installed the one you sent. Good news ! It's working on different .fcpxml, which is nice ^^
Unfortunately, there is still the same problem with the first project i sent to you :(
I tried differents things as delete unused audio, move every media outside/inside the .fcpbundle, box trimming, unbox trimming....
I'm out of ideas :(

After some tries, it appears that X2Pro 3.0.5 is still working with medias shot with ou Canon 5D M3 and M2 (h264 / .mov), but not when we shot with our Sony FS7 and FS700 ( XAvc-i / .mxf).
The strange fact is that we manage to export an .aaf from a FS7 video 2 weeks ago, when we were still using X2Pro 2.?.?. I tryed again with the 3.0.5, from the same fcpxml, but it's not working right now.
But we upgraded not because there were a new version, but because we encountered a sudden issue (coming from nowhere) when trying to export an AAF. So i will try with the previous code but I'm not sure it will work anyway :/
Thanks !

Dear Dim,
Thanks for the XML we will investigate (this is logged as our ticket 5909), I will pop you a mail about reverting to the older code.
Yours sincerely.

Hi Jeremy, here it is !
Where could i find an older version of X2pro ? I would like to try something but the appstore doesn't provide it so once you have updated, it's too late :(

Hi Jeremy !
Thanks for your answer. Actually, the file from the directory you gave to me is not in this folder as I - when importing my media in FCP- choose not to copy the original media but to leave it in another directory on the same hard drive.
So in /Volumes/GDB_3/SAISON_03/S03_E04_FRANCHISSEURS/GDB_S03_E04_Franchisseurs.fcpbundle/RUSHES GP FS/Original Media/
there are only "shortcuts" to original medias, maybe X2Pro cannot follow this link :/
By the way, i have no trouble to play out .mp4 files with Quicktime.
Does it help ? Tell me if you need another informations.
Thanks

Dim,
Although the error message is similar to other users on the forum, the cause of the problem is unique to each user and file.
Would you check and see if you can browse to the file in the reference below and play it out using Quicktime?
File reference location: /Volumes/GDB_3/SAISON_03/S03_E04_FRANCHISSEURS/GDB_S03_E04_Franchisseurs.fcpbundle/RUSHES GP FS/Original Media/GOPR0067.mp4
Please let us know how you get on.
If you can browse to and play out the file, we would like to get the file from you to troubleshoot why we are getting this error message form the components that we use in the Application.
Many thanks and I look forward to your response.
