See the attached screen grab of your project in FCP. It shows a retimed compound clip at the exact time that X2Pro reported it.

From looking at your FCPXML, it looks to me like you have 30 retimed clips, but that is the only one that is causing a problem because it's the only one that is a compound clip.

It you remove the retiming from that compound clip, you will be able to convert your project using X2Pro

We'd prefer to send the xml privately. Can we have your email? Otherwise, here's my email . Thanks, Steve[email address redacted].

Thanks,
Steve

Retimed "simple" clips are not a problem. Please attach your fcpxml so that we can check it over and find out why it is saying that there are retimed compound clips.

Hi Graeme,

Thanks for your quick reply.

We went through the timeline and it turns out we do not have any retime compound clips. They are retimed simple clips (original single clip from the bin retimed). Furthermore, some of the clips causing error messages were DISABLED on the timeline. We removed a few of the DISABLED SIMPLE retimed clips and then exported XML and put it through X2Pro again, result is fewer error messages.

My question is: Does this mean that we need to delete all the retimed clips in our timeline in order to export the AAF? That is near impossible because we have 40-50 of them and it will be very difficult for our sound designer to recreate that from scratch.

Is there a way that allow us to at least keep those retimed clips on the timeline disabled in the AAF?

The filtered clips will be included in the AAF, it's just the filter that will be ignored. I think there will be a marker in the AAF where the filter was, so the sound designer knows where to apply a similar effect.

Hi, thank you for the clarification. Is there something further we can do about this problem:

• Filters are not supported. The Audio filter [Underwater] at 01:08:05.47 has been ignored

We want our sound designer to be able to refer to the filtered clips as a guide for his work in Pro Tools. Is there any way possible to bypass or work around this problem?

Retimed clips are not a problem for X2Pro, but retimed compound clips are. In order to be able to convert your project, please do one of the following:
  • Remove the retiming on the compound clip
  • Remove the compound clip
  • Replace the retimed compound clip with retimed simple clips

Boone created the topic: X2Pro LE refuses to produce an AAF
Hello,

I exported an XML from FCPX version 10.1.3 and attempted to generate an AAF file from it in X2Pro LE 3.0.13.

I get the error message about retimed clips below, which to my understanding should not prevent X2Pro from going ahead and generating an AAF file. But no AAF file results. I get the error message and no file. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
