You have chosen to "Reference WAV files in place", but some of your audio is not from single channel WAV files.

The solution is one of the following:
  • The easiest option; Uncheck the option to "Reference WAV files in place"
  • If you do want to reference some audio, but embed some too; In the preferences, under the section titled "Handling media that can't be referenced" (in the Media Handling tab), choose "Embed the media, optionally trimming"
  • If your audio is all from WAV files, but some if from multi-channel WAV files (which Pro Tools doesn't support being referenced in an AAF) and you really do want to reference even the multi-channel WAV files; In the preferences, under the section titled "Handling media that can't be referenced" (in the Media Handling tab), choose "Reference multi-channel WAV files"

Yours sincerely

Hi,

I'm getting this error message.

Details:
Writing AAF file.
Getting audio characteristics for asset [CASA_14AT2]
Error trying to create reference for asset (not a WAV file or too many audio channels)

No AAF file has been generated.
X2Pro Audio Convert 4.0.11

In my project I have both mono (1 channel) and stereo (2 channels) audio files. CASA_14AT2 is a stereo one. It seems that X2PRO is reporting errors with all the stereo files.

How do I fix the problem in order to create a proper AAF file?

It is very urgent,

Thanks.
