Dawar,
I have a project here which uses a clip that has original, optimised and proxy versions for a single clip. When I export the FCPXML, it always references the original clip. As Chris said below, X2Pro is only able to use the references that it is given in the FCPXML, so it can only use the original media too. If the original media is offline, it will not be able to convert the FCPXML to an AAF.

Hi Dawar,
X2Pro works on the media that is referenced by the fcpxml (we can't look at anything else, we just rely on this single file). I believe that if the FCP X project references the optimised media, then the fcpxml will do so too and X2Pro will reference that. I guess, if you are concerned, you could take a peek inside the fcpxml.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
I'd like to know how X2PRO deal with original and optimized media.
If I delete original media in my Final Cut Event folder after having optimized it, will X2PRO be able to find audio in the transcoded media folder, ie optimized media ?
Thanks
