It seems that there could be a bit of a problem with 7toX and FCP-X 10.1.1 then, can I just confirm that the fcpxml that you sent us was exported from FCP-X not 7toX?

I tried to import and got an identical error
Media was ingested externally and logged in FCP 7 and brought in to X via 7toX.
By default FCP X assigned it 2 Stereo and 2- 0 channels as illustrated in the attached file.
When I select 2 Stereo the extra channel 0 disappear but are perhaps somehow still present in the XML export.

Jason,
we have had a closer look at the fcp xml and as far as we can see it is not valid, there are 2 reasons why we believe this:
1) as I previously said there is a clip with no file reference
2) we can't import the xml into our fcp
The reference problem is due to an unexpected media id in an area where only an asset id is valid. When we try to import the xml into our FCP (also 10.1.1) we get a dialogue box with no title and 4 messages which read:
"Element audio-source does not carry attribute srcCh"
We are speaking to Apple about this but it would help if you can try to re-import the exported XML into the same FCP system and see whether you see the same error message.

We don't think that your asterisks are the problem but there is something odd in the xml which we are investigating. It appears that there is a clip which does not have any file reference in it (r14), this should not happen.
