Hi Tim,
Thought this might be of interest to you. I had a bit of a session with olde Chatters GPT earlier.
Long and short of it, it managed to re-write the XML for this particular project which allowed me to see everything correctly.
I don't fully understand everything it's saying but I'm sure it'll make more sense to you. Here's a link to the chat I had.
Ideally I don't really want to have to go through this every time I want to access an archived project so it would be helpful to hear your views on what it found. Is it a bug? User error? etc.

What's interesting is when it comes to relinking FC does seem to know there are meant to be files with number extensions. It then relinks correctly but that then isn't transferred to the timeline.

Hi Tim and anyone else who might have had this trouble,
I'm circling back on this as I've required to open another archived project and the same thing is happening so wondering if there was any update or help?
Thanks
James

Hi Tim
Here is a screen grab of the folder Worx4 created if it's any help.
As you can see, Worx created clips of the interview file but FCP is getting confused.

Having discussed this we think that you might 'fix' this by making all of the media off-line and re-linking to the 'new' clips rather than the proxy clips. There may be other ways to remove the proxy references but I'm not an expert in FCPX

Looking more at the xmld file I see references to 11 sub-clips. The clip name seems to remain the original, this is, I believe, as expected, can you check that the contents of the 11 clips (C0177-1.MP4 to C0177-11.MP4) are the parts of the audio that you expect on the timeline? These 11 MP4 files are what should be used by FCPX.

I'm very confused. Sorry!
I did what I always do:
I export an XML file to the desktop which comes up as fcpxmld (can't use version XML 1.13 BTW).
I then open Worx4, input source XML file as the one of desktop, give it a project name and a destination.
Within that destination there is another fcpxmld file and that's the one I keep with all the file clips in the folder and delete the one on the desktop.

Sorry for the delay, there MUST be an original as WOrx4X processes a FCPXML and uses it to create the 'sub-clips' which it then links to a new version of the XML. The XML that you supplied, and I assume that you are using to try to look at the trimmed project, appears to be the original and not the we-written one. In the output folder there should be a 'new' FCPXML which references the C0177-1, C0177-2 etc. clip versions, the one that you sent only references sections of the clip called C0177
Tim.
Tim.

Hi Tim,
Checking in to see if there was anything that can be done?
Thanks
