Re-import your xml back into FCP X. Start with detaching all of your audio then "break apart clip items". This should display some blank clips (should appear grey), deleting those and then re-exporting your xml should hopefully allow you to generate your AAF.
Alternatively, you can send us your xml and we will take a look at it for you.

Yes, but did you import the clips directly in FCPX? Or did you convert and remove the cam audio upfront? Camera audio may be present, but you have to break apart the audio to see and remove it. I had the same problem with a feature (!) 90 minute film before, also with this camera.

If possible remove all the camera audio from the timeline by breaking apart the clips first. But this only works if you do no need the camera audio. The camera audio is causing the problems.

I too am getting this for a feature project I'm cutting. All my clips are already ProResLT. If I cut the timeline down to small bytes, it does export properly, so strange. Please help!

Hi Daniel
I talked with another editor who had a similar problem and what solved both of our issues was to transcode the clips that were showing up in the error message to ProRes, and then cut them back in to X.
It's tedious, because there were about 10 clips cut multiple times throughout the film and all of those edits had to be replaced. But it did make the error message go away, and I was able to export AAFs effectively.
Unfortunately, uploading my XML to the link you provided did not fix the issue.
Many thanks
Sherril

Hi Sherril,
Sorry I wasn't very clear in my last response. This is a known problem with some xmls, they describe an asset (In this case GettyImages-97862651) as having no audio, but then later on it tries to reference the assets audio (of which there is none) and causes the whole error "No audio tracks defined in asset [GettyImages-97862651]" as it thinks there should be some audio.
Basically, the XML has been badly formed as such we cannot work with it, however the fixfcp.xml should add the xml audio details in the asset section if audio is referenced later in the xml for a clip that was originally signed as video only.
We are happy to look at the media in question if you are able to supply it to see why the fixfcpxml
might not have worked.
Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,
Thanks for getting back to me......unfortunately the upload didn't fix it.
And yes....I am aware that the clip that's reported in the Fatal Error Report is a stock shot that DOES NOT have any audio.
So I'm not sure why that prevents the entire AAF export from proceeding?
This is what I found so confusing.
When I remove every occurrence of that clip from the cut.....I was able to get X2Pro to export the AAF's.
I am now transcoding the shot to another codec and will re-edit into my cut.
Hopefully that will resolve the problem.
If there is any additional light you can shed for me so that I understand this better, I'd be grateful.
Thank you!
Sherril

Hi Shinx,
Your XML describes that asset as having no audio, but then tries to reference the assets audio later on.
A temporary workaround is to upload your fcpxml to fixfcpxml.appspot.com/ and that should allow you to download a fixed fcpxml that X2Pro will convert.
Hope this has sorted the issue,
Daniel

Hi,
I am brand new to X2Pro and have just received a similar Fatal Errors report:
The following fatal errors were found:
Processing Audio element
Processing element ProjectElement
Processing element AudioElement
Extracting audio
Extracting Audio
No audio tracks defined in asset [GettyImages-97862651]
Processing element SequenceElement
Processing element VideoElement
Processing element SpineElement
Processing element ClipElement
Processing element GapElement
I have attached my XML.
ANY guidance would be MOST appreciated. We're on a bit of a time crunch to turn this over to our sound guys.
Many thanks,
Sherril

Posted the reply below 2 days ago, would love to hear about any solutions or workarounds vs X2Pro. Thanks!
