Hi Sean

The issue in the xml is asset r95 it has no media-rep children and it is mandatory that it has at least one to be a valid FCPXML, you might just want to remove the asset.

Yours sincerely

James

That indicates that the XML which FCPX has written is not valid for some reason, if FCPX can't read it then X2Pro is not likely to be able to either. I don't know why Logic Pro can read it but it is not a valid XML. This seems to happen occasionally with FCPX and you w2ill either need to re-export after changing whatever it is that has caused the problem or contact Apple to find out why the XML that FCPX has exported is not valid. We are looking at the XML but it may be that we can't do anything to fix it.

Here is what happened when I try to import the xml:

Encountered an unexpected value. (src="": /fcpxml[1]/resources[1]/asset[77]/@src)

This file imports into Logic Pro X.

Hi Sean,

I get a DTD validation error when trying to reimport your xml back into Final Cut Pro X. Can you see if you are able to re-import it back into FCPX?

If you are unable to then that suggests that your xml file is corrupt as FCPX is unable to read it again. Try exporting a new xml to see if that helps. Re-importing the fcpxml is a good way to check if a valid fcpxml has been created.

Hi Sean

Did you create the XML as V 1.9 ? Can you attach the FCPXML and we can take a look.

Many thanks

James

Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information

Details:
Asset [nil] has no valid media
Extracting Audio
Extracting audio

Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);

X2Pro Audio Convert 4.5.6
Final Cut X 10.5.4
