Are you able to provide an MXF file that you are having trouble with so we can look at it here?

What versions of OS X and FCP X are you using?

its defiantly having trouble with MXF files, i swapped AA061501 to a MOV and it was fine, but later it buts up against more MXF's and gives me the same error, I really don't have the time or inclination to go through the entire job converting MXF's to MOV's, defiantly don't have the rouge mxfconverter.componant that others seem to have run afoul of in the past

AA061501.mxf is on a drive called "My Passport Studio", in a folder called "My Passport Studio's projects and events.fcpbundle/Scene 14/Original Media/".

Can you please check whether that file is really in that location. If it is, can you remove all your media locations and try adding only your main system drive (normally called "Macintosh HD") then try again.

Please let us know how that goes.

Can you please attach your fcpxml.
Do you have any folders set in the "Media Locations" section of X2Pro's preferences?
