Have you tried temporarily to remove the RED file in question and see whether an AAF can be created ? If it can, then can you determine whether there is anything wrong with the RED file.

Suggestion: If this RED file is spanned then ensure that an entry for the containing folder
has been added to the Media Locations in the Preferences.

No AAF file has been generated.
