Dear Nicholas,
The current release should work with 10.0.4 and upwards so you should be ok with 10.0.9. Ordinarily we would advise you to upgrade the version of FCPX, however as you are in the middle or nearing the end of a project obviously upgrading could be problematic and we would therefore advise against it.
