Dear JGS,
Yes we understand why you cannot upgrade your OS, and would not recommend whilst you are half way through any project. That being said we have looked at the XML and this would also have failed in the latest version (3.0.5).
The following media in the XML itself appears to have problems with assets that are referenced in the sequence part of the XML.
The clips in question being:
r33 (Alvin Greene gives reporter rabbit ears on live TV (long ver)
r58 (WJZ_20100619_223000_CBS_Evening_News)
r132 (11 Mar 9 703)
r136 (2010-09-07 19:20:18)
r164 (2010-11-04 07:58:05)
r221 (2011-09-30 18:54:34)
However if you attempt to import the XML into FCP it is invalid, which would mean somehow it was created badly, unfortunately that means you will need to approach Apple directly to investigate why the XML was created in the way it was.
The only workarounds we can think are replacing / re-ingesting the above named clips.

Dear JGS,
I believe we may have just sent you a mail directly, to confirm can you please upgrade to the latest version of X2Pro (3.0.5) from the App store.
Can you please also clear the console, attempt to create the AAF and then copy us the text in the console.
Yours Sincerely

Not quite sure to do on this one as I'm not given specifics about the specific clips that are having issues. See below. I'm given info about the clip but it's not specifically referenced. Thoughts?
Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information
Details:
Invalid track number 1 referencing asset Alvin Greene gives reporter rabbit ears on live TV (long ver
Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);
X2Pro Audio Convert 3.0.2
System Console may contain more information.[/i]
