I know it has been a long time, but i wanted to inform you of some good news.
Because of the changes that Apple have made in their new FCP software and XML, we have been able to improve the app.
if you upgrade to FCP10.3 and use of V 1.6 XMLs, we believe your problem with the roles and volume automation may be resolved.
This would be using the latest version of the app, which is available on the App store.
Thank you for your help and patience with us.
Please let us know how things work for you, if you get the chance to use this new software.

Hi everyone,
I'm on OSX 10.11.3 with FCPX 10.2.3 and X2Pro 3.0.5
Did some of you also noticed that roles and volume automation are wrong in some cases ?
Last time I opened an AAF file with pro tools, all the clips were "role-tagged" according to the track it's supposed to land on, but some of them didn't make it to their appropriate track. When I checked my volume automations, these same clips were over weird curves that weren't supposed to be here.
After some testing it turns out that the way x2pro put attributes on connected audio clips is wrong when you do per channel settings/adjsting on the clip the are connected to. They tend to "inherit" these attributes from it.
My project contains files coming from a multichannel recorder that produces 6ch discrete BWF. These files are used to make sync clips with the camera files with audio as guide. So that a sync clip contains actually one stereo and one 6ch file (trying to make myself clear here...). When I adjust the audio from the camera, everything's fine so far : I connect a stereo sound effect to it, I tag this one "Effects", in pro tools all is normal. But if I touch the 6ch part of the same sync clip (changing volume and channel roles), it messes up with my connected sound effect. In pro tools my sound effect is on two different tracks named like the two first track of my 6ch clip.
Here's some screenshots I made to illustrate my test :
Before the test, in fcpx :
With audio deployed, we can see that I muted the audio from cam on the first two channels, and my soundFX untouch :
Protools output's fine :
Testing per channel roles and volume automations, in fcpx (green sound fx still untouched) :
With audio deployed (we see better) :
In Protools output, my sound fx clip is messed up :
Hope everything's perfectly clear about this bug report, it's kind of a trick thing...
