You mentioned early on that you were "working with some proxy files".
Does that mean that the original media is offline (e.g. on a drive that is not currently plugged in)?
If so, then it will be a problem for X2Pro because the FCPXML only ever references the original media.
There is no way to get X2Pro to use proxies for audio.
Along that same line, you mentioned that "x2pro seems to recognize some but not all of the proxies".
Unless the actual proxies are referenced in the fcpxml, which would not be normal, then X2Pro is not actual looking at any of the proxy files, By X2Pro not failing on every file that has been edited in a proxy format, it just simply means that X2Pro was able to get to the original media for some files, but not for these others.
If I am incorrect and your Original Media is all online, will you please clear the media locations configured in the X2Pro preferences and try the conversion again. If that does not work, then you can try adding the main system drive (usually labeled as Macintosh HD) to the media locations and try again.
Please let us know how you get along.

Would you please copy the text from the console and save it to a file, as It doesn't help much with the text in each line getting cutoff.
Many thanks.

I think it would be beneficial for us to get the console log from you.
You media locations are set and the file path should have been covered by that location.
Would you please open the Console.
Clear the window, then try the conversion again in X2Pro.
Provide us the contents from the console window..

please zip and attach your FCPXML.
Also, if you have any configured, please provide screen captures of the Media Locations that you have set in the X2Pro preferences.
Lastly, what version of OS X are you using?

Every time I attempt to use the program, I get the error below. I've tried removing the files it doesn't like, but there are so many of them that at a certain point it became most of the files in the project that I was removing.
I am working with some proxy files, x2pro seems to recognize some but not all of the proxies. Let me know if I can provide any additional info, I'm not sure what would be the most helpful for you.
Error:
Writing AAF file
Adding assets to AAF file
Adding essence for asset [IN_151108_2266] to AAF file
Opening audio extractor for portion 0 of asset [IN_151108_2266]
Failed to initialise audio extractor with default bit depth of 16
Error Setting up for audio extraction (The requested URL was not found on this server.)
Suggestion: Does this movie contain an unsupported audio format ?
No AAF file has been generated.
