Dear Robert,

It appears that there were characters used to describe the clips originally that are null/not allowed in an XML, how FCPX allowed itself to create an XML in the first place we are not sure, but it did and the XML was bad because of these null characters, so renaming resolved the issue.

Glad you managed to sort it out.

Yours sincerely

James.

So i finally figured it out...had nothing to do with X2Pro...it was some kind of werd naming convention...All of the clips were named in the pattern "Scene - Shot - Take", so i.e. "10 - 2 - 3". But a bunch of clips were named "Reel - Scene - Shot - Take", i.e. "A034 - 10 - 2 - 3". I renamed all those clips in the timeline, deleting the Reelpart and since then everything worked nicely. So this is kind of weird and should have worked. Looks like a FCPX thing to me..,

So thank you very much for the help and the suggestions!

Kind regards!
Robert

Hi Robert,

It might be wise to see if you can export the original sequence again as an XML and see whether that can be re-imported / round tripped back into FCPX.

Yours Sincerely

James

Interesting...FCP cant import it and says:

DTD-Überprüfung fehlgeschlagen. (Line 3614: Char 0x0 out of allowed range
Line 3614: AttValue: ' expected
Line 3614: attributes construct error
Line 3614: Couldn't find end of Start Tag clip
)

I use 10.2.3.

Hi Robert,

Can you try to import it back into your FCPX, and can you advise what version of FCPX you are using.

Yours Sincerely

Dear Robert.

Where did the XML come from, as it appears to be badly formatted and cannot be imported into FCPX, which would explain why we cannot process it.

Yours Sincerely

James

Hi there! i just bought X2Pro but it won´t ingest the XML file an gives me this error message:

Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information

Details:
Unable to parse file /Volumes/Pegasus/TEMP-DATEIEN - Nach Gebrauch löschen/The_Year_Turnover_Audio.fcpxml (Line 3073: Char 0x0 out of allowed range
Line 3073: AttValue: ' expected
Line 3073: attributes construct error
Line 3073: Couldn't find end of Start Tag clip
)

Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);

X2Pro Audio Convert 3.0.13

Could you help me out, because im running against a deadline...
Thank you!

Kind regards
Robert
