Dear Keegan,

We have released today a version of the code 4.0.12 that is able to convert your fcpxml with correct durations, however to be clear there is still an issue itself with the XML supplied, which has been created badly as you cannot import this back into FCPX without an error as it has certain clips which have no references. There is a little application we use to remove these clips from the XML and then the XML will go through.

Yours Sincerely

James

having no references to certain clips which is something that is out of the scope of X2Pro

Dear KeeganK

This is raised as a ticket our end (6755) I will forward you details of an ftp drop folder as we are going to need to look one or all of the seven clips that are still causing issues in your latest XML.

Yours Sincerely

Hi Graeme!

Thanks so much for your help!
I didn't want to keep pestering you all until I had tried everything.

I went through the whole film and did what you suggested.
I exported the retimed clips and reimported them as 100% and that seemed to work, but I'm still running into trouble with the clips you mentioned.
CLIP0000003_000
CLIP0000420_002
CLIP0000291_000
CLIP0000339_000
CLIP0000192_000
CLIP0000692_000

Even after removing them and bringing them back into the timeline.
The strange thing about the problem clips, is that some of them are audio-less b-roll and others are actual dialog,

Here is a link to the new audio fcpxml. www.dropbox.com/s/406egubsd4kw3tj/WTH%20Nov%2010th.fcpxml?dl=0
Thanks so much.
-Keegan

The problem is cause by some retiming on one of your clips that X2Pro is not able to handle. The clip is called "TMAO" and is at 01:08:15:14. If you remove the retiming on that clip (set it to 100%) then X2Pro should get past that issue.

We did notice that when we tried to convert the project after removing the retiming on that clip, X2Pro hit another issue with some 6 clips that were described as having no audio, but were then used in the project as having audio. The clips were called:
  • CLIP0000003_000
  • CLIP0000420_002
  • CLIP0000291_000
  • CLIP0000339_000
  • CLIP0000192_000
  • CLIP0000692_000

We think that removing these clips and re-adding them might solve this, but in case it doesn't, I will email you an fcpxml with the retiming removed and the 6 clip descriptions updated, so if you can't fix it yourself by doing what I suggest above, you may be able to use that fcpxml instead.

Thanks for providing that. I'm able to reproduce it here. Unfortunately I didn't come up with a workaround, so I've referred it to the development team.

I'll keep you updated with what they find.

Thanks Graeme,

I tried to upload the fcpxml file last night and today but I get an error message that the file is too large.
Here is a dropbox folder with it through.: www.dropbox.com/s/bhqlbg2h5hk5xos/WTH%20Nov%204th.fcpxml?dl=0

I tried it both in v1.6 and v1.5
I tried it as format: audio and every variation of that.
I tried it straight from FCPX to X2Pro.
I un-installed X2Pro, restarted computer, duplicate the project, rerendered, etc.
I'm really at a loss.

I did create a fcpxml from another short 4min project that worked successfully, but that was one multicam clip solo.

Thanks again!

Hi Keegan,

Can you please attach your fcpxml so that we can see why the error is occurring.

Have you tried exporting your fcpxml as both a v1.5 and a v1.6 fcpxml? Do they both have the same problem?

Just so you know, auditions don't need to be finalised any more.

I've seen Cowspiracy in Netflix's "recommended for you" section and I've just added it to the "my list" section for future watching :-)

I just bought the newest version of X2Pro 4.0.10, running it on the newest version of FCPX 10.3 (paid for) on El Cap 10.11.4

I have tried exporting a variety of XML flavors and still the usually blue "start" button is greyed out, but if I click it a few times I can get an error message:

Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information

Details:
Calculating Boxing

Extracting audio
Getting retiming from time map
Invalid attempt to Linearly Interpolate <FCPXMLParser.SwiftControlPoint: 0x7f96f16fbdd0> -> 27.1938333333333 -> <FCPXMLParser.SwiftControlPoint: 0x7f96f16a6940>

Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);

X2Pro Audio Convert 4.0.10

As pretty much everyone on the forum, I "desperately" need to hand off the assets to my sound designer in the morning.
This is a 90 minute feature documentary film jammed full of multicam/synced clips.

I went through the whole film and made sure all "auditions" are set to finalized and deleted all offline clips.

Any and all help would be amazing!
-Keegan

ps. I used x2Pro on our last film Cowspiracy (on Netflix) and it worked like a charm, hence why I waited until last minute to do this. Lesson learned.
