That's what I though would happen. The fcpxml is invalid, so I suggest you report it to Apple.
Depending on how bad it is, we may be able to help "fix" the fcpxml, if you can provide it for us.

Hey all, just grabbed the software and after exporting an xml from FCPX (v 10.3.1) I received the error below. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Background: The original project was created in a previous version of FCPX. (10.2.2) and then imported into 10.3.1.
Attached is a screen grab of my edit sequence.

Parsing audio element
Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);
