We just solved it. It turns out the audio from the camera was 44.1 and that's what final cut was assuming the source audio was to be. The Editor deleted out the camera' audio clips and everything exported/imported just fine.

You had said "or the import into ProTools was set to resample to 44.1"
In Pro Tools I have "Don't convert Sample Rate on Import" turned OFF (unchecked) because I had trouble with SRC before when importing AAFs created by X2Pro. Not sure if that's what you meant

Hi Tim,
The audio is embedded which leads me to believe that the source project might be set incorrectly?
What's weird is when I asked the editor to create a new project in FCPX, by default, it's settings indicate that the FCPX blank project would open as a 48k/24bit for the audio. Is there a way in FCPX to see what the current session/project is set to?

X2Pro can resample audio that is being embedded in the AAF to 48k but not to 44.1 so it is either the audio that is already 44.1 or the import into ProTools was set to resample to 44.1. These are the only 2 possible explanations for what you are seeing. Is this happening with referenced or embedded audio?

Hello,
I am importing an AAF generated by X2Pro into Pro Tools 12.8.1HD and it keeps saying that the source audio is 44.1? I was the guy who recorded this audio and know for a fact that the audio was recorded at 48k.
How do I ensure that the XML from FCPX exports with the correct sample rate?
I'm not seeing any settings in X2Pro that lets me dictate sample rate.
Thank you for any help you can give me,
John
