Hi Thomas,
Many thanks,we have tried the aaf. you provided on High Sierra, using PT 12.8.1, and unfortunately we can't reproduce the crash he is seeing, but we do get a CPU overload error, but PT appears to continue to work. Can your sound guy detail what OS he is using and exactly how he imported into Pro Tools and what if any error messages in PT they see.
Attached is a screenshot of the import into Pro Tools of the aaf. provided, incidentally we dont get asked to relink any files for this particular aaf.

Hi Daniel,
This does not fix the problem.
I always have this switched on, and have tested with it on and off. It makes no difference to the import into ProTools. It also has zero impact on the size of the AAF. Which seems suspicious if you're suggesting that it should be discarding disabled channels, not just disabled clips. It appears it includes all these disabled angles in the AAF regardless
I've also played with the "reference multichannel wavs" in Media Handling. This also has no effect.
Any more thoughts?

Hi Thomas,
If you open the X2Pro preferences, in the general tab, there is the option to "Discard disabled clips". If you select it, it then shouldn't include them in the AAF.
We suspect this is why they are included. Logic appears to not bother with any disable audio which is why it strips it out, but Pro Tools does.
Hopefully this helps sort the problem.
Daniel

Thanks Daniel.
It's actually another company who are doing the sound mix. They are using ProTools 12.8.1
I have the XML and AAF to send you. What are the FTP details?
Thanks for the quick reply

Hi Thomas,
Would you be able to provide us with the AAF and the xml file? We have a secure FTP site you can use which we can supply to you via email.
Would you also be able to tell us which version of Pro Tools you are using as well.
Thanks,
Daniel

My sound mixer is having a problem with AAF's from x2pro.
In Final Cut I've disabled 5 of 6 audio channels in the sound files. I've also unchecked these roles/subroles in x2pro before creating the AAF. But my Sound Mixer is telling me that it is trying to "relink" to the channels which shouldn't exist in the AAF. It is also causing him crashes.
Is this normal? Is there a reason that the disabled channels appear to be included in the AAF?
