Audio Gaps when importing into Pro Tools

Hello, I'm a Pro Tools based sound editor receiving an aaf created with x2Pro and I'm having an issue I hope you can help with.

The length of the project is apx. 8 minutes, however the audio files coming in from the aaf are chopped up into tiny little pieces (some no more than 2 frames long) and spread out over almost 30 minutes of the timeline. The editor who is using FXP X to XML to AAF with X2Pro assures me the audio is not like this in his editing timeline.

It seems that all of the correct audio files are present in the aaf, and tracks names are as expected, but somehow the audio files themselves have been chopped up and placed along the timeline with huge gaps of empty timeline in between them.
