You could always try it I suppose, I would recommend making a copy of the fcpxml if you want to try putting it into FCP X again.

Its gone through Final Cut Pro X, then Final Cut Pro 7 and I'm now using Final Cut Pro X again to export.
MAC: High Sierra 10.13.3
FCPX: 10.4.3
X2Pro: X2PRO Audio Converter 4.2.2

We are able to reproduce the same issue here, so I have asked one of the developers to take a look at it.
Has your xml been through any other products or has it only come from FCPX? What version of MacOS, FCP X and X2Pro are you using?
