Leaving trim embedded audio on will take just the parts of any clips you have used into the AAF + any handles you have set (2 seconds is good).

Many thanks yes I did have reference WAV ticked now unticked but have left the trip embedded audio ticked and added 2seconds handles is this correct?

It sounds like you have "Reference WAV files in place" ticked. If you untick that option you should stop seeing the error message.

New to X2PRO my first time using X2PRO and this message An error occurred converting Final Cut XML to AAF Writing AAF file
Getting audio characteristics for asset [SKULLZ_D410]
Error trying to create reference for asset (not a WAV file or too many audio channels)

No AAF file has been generated.
X2Pro Audio Convert 4.2.2
All audio is from Sony Cameras I have detached audio from video clip in fcpx inspector it said stereo 2 channels 48khz
This is a feature film and the sound team wanted AAF files any advice please
