Here's the .xml file. Examining this .xml file in FCPX timeline, there are black slugs in the vision where the media connections have been broken somehow and files missing. On phone to FCPX guys in USA, I tested retranscoding media, was able to export an .xml without black slugs in a test scene, so I may be on the way to resolving this issue . . .

Whoops! Meant to post my message here too. I am getting the same thing! Here is my original post:

"Hi folks!

Let me first start off by saying, I am very excited about this program. I have tried using it tonight to convert a 1hr48 minute project (2MB XML file) to Pro tools. I get an error message stating the following:

"Writing AAF file
Adding tracks to AAF file
Writing AAF track structure
Processing clip
Adding clip from source channel 1 to track 2
Clip starts at 5622176 frames but track is already 5622177 frames in length

No AAF file has been generated."

I am not at all sure what to do with my Final Cut project to fix this. Any ideas what my problem is here?

Thanks"

Can you post just the XML? If our parsing of the XML suggests auditions, then they must be in the XML unless we've got something wrong. Looking at the XML will clear that up.
No, I'm afraid there is no way to ignore it.
We'll look into it.

Yes, that is the error warning I'm getting. I've checked the offending section and there are no "auditions" present - I have never used this function of FCPX. Can I override this and get X2Pro to export anyway? Will send the text from details panel ASAP.

Also, what is the best way to review my .xml file to see if the errors are there?

As I don't have ProTools, I need a way to view the AAF file [ assuming I can export one!!] without physically going to my sound mixer's studio. Any suggestions?

@CitizenP: When you say it "Keeps aborting due to errors.", do you mean that you see the message saying "Errors were found converting from Final Cut XML to AAF" (like in the attached image) and then some text below or is something else happening?

If it is that message that you are seeing, can you please copy and paste the text from the details panel below that message into a post on this forum.

It might also be useful if you could attach the fcpxml file that you are trying to convert if that is possible.

Tried 8 times to create aaf file. Keeps aborting due to errors. How do you refine your project if the error message has no details of what went wrong??
Getting worried here that this software may not work . . .

Forum created the topic: Re: Error Warnings
Warnings indicate that some part of the project information was not translated but that an AAF has been created which accurately reflects the timeline. Errors indicate that the project contains features which could not be translated and no AAF has been created. You can copy the contents of this window to help you refine the FCP-X project to better translate, or to hand over to audio finishing for their information.
