Hi Ross,

Glad to be of help, it was that asset r177, it had a bit rate of 48000.2 in the XML which is odd, I just removed the .2. And many thanks for confirming that you were able to use the Proxy workaround for CRM.

Yours Sincerely

James

Thank you James, you fixed it! What did you do? Is there something I can adjust myself to make future XML exports work?

And once I was able to import the XML to X2Pro, what you mention about CRM files and proxies worked too. It extracted audio from the Proxy of the CRM file that FCP had generated.

Dear Ross,

I have modified the XML can you see if it will import into your system.

The issue may well be asset r177 (line 2957 on the xml), the audio rate has been modified so it is 4800. Can you try it your end and let us know how you get on. The other unusual thing is that it gives no extension for this asset i.e. it is not R3D, mp4, etc..

Can you see what the extension is for the actual clip located
file:///Volumes/Nature%20Doc%202019/Visuals/00%20Old%20Hi8%20videos/General_1995_Easter:summer_capture

Thanks

James

I'm trying to find another workaround as time is an issue. I can't easily share a file because the Canon CRM files are huge. Will get in touch if I can think of anything...

It appears that this is a media problem, can you give us a small sample file which exhibits this problem? I am particularly interested in the apparent Audio rate of 48000.2 as it looks a bit odd as a sample rate and may well be causing X2Pro a problem.

Have you tried processing the V1.8 XML with X2Pro?

... Although when I re-download my 1.9 version XML below, that file still works for me.

Sounds like it may have got a bit affected by being posted and downloaded, I notice that it is a V1.9 XML, can you try again using the V1.8, I have seen instances where V1.9 is problematic.

Opens fine for me in a new Library. Also FCPX 10.5.1.

What else could I try?

Hi Ross

When attempting to import the xml into FCPX we get a File could not be imported, inappropriate file type or format error.

Can you see what happens your end if you try to re-import this xml please.

We are running FCPX 10.5 here.

Yours sincerely

James

Please excuse multiple posts, but I'm unsure if the following error is related to CRM (Canon raw light) files, a thread on which I replied t yesterday.

I am getting this error with the attached XML. Can you help?

Unable to parse FCP XML file

Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information

Details:
Extracting Audio
Getting audioRate attribute
Int attribute had value of [48000.2]
Parsing FCP XML
Parsing FCP XML document
Parsing asset element

Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);

X2Pro Audio Convert 4.5.4

Thanks,
Ross
