Hi Daniel,

The permissions are ok. Due to time pressure, I had to do the mix on FCP.
Thanks for your answers.

We have found in later versions of MacOS that the permissions do act a little strange. In X2Pro preferences > 'media locations' can you add the highest folder the media is in and the subfolder that it is in and see if that helps?

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Rozenn,

I was having a play around on my Mac here and noticed that sometimes when you change the permissions on a folder it doesn't always give you read/write access to subfolders. If you check the top level folder and all the sub folders do they all have read/write permissions?

Hi Daniel,

All the folders who have data inside have Read and write permission.
You were right, X2Pro was just "Read" so I allowed it to be "Read & Write" but we still have the same problem...

Thanks

Hi Rozenn,

I deleted my last message because I got X2Pro mixed up with another one of our products. We are struggling to think of other reasons that you can't open your clips in Final Cut and X2Pro. Can you right click on the top level folder your clips are in and select "get info" then right at the bottom there is a "Sharing & permissions" area. Can you make sure that the user running X2Pro has Read & write access? (Or give 'everyone' read and write access).

Thanks,
Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Yes I can read the files in VLC Media Player and I can see the different audio channels. The .MXF didn't move since we opened and worked with them in Final Cut.

Best,
Rozenn

Can you check you are able to navigate and play the media files in a finder window? If X2Pro and FCPX cant find the media then either something has changed with the media since Final Cut last was able to see it or it isn't accessible any more.

Hi again,

It seems like the files have a problem to connect in FCP with proxy, we can see on the right side that they are red. But we are not able to link the audio files again even if we can ear the sound or see the waveform.
Do you have an idea ?

See you

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for your quick answer.
I allowed this access as you said but unfortunately we have the same problem.

Do you have other ideas ? We are doing everything on the same hard drive.

Hi Rozenn,

It looks like the issue is X2Pro doesn't have access to any of the clips on your "Extreme SSD".X2Pro needs permissions to read/write from that drive. Are the clips that are linked in the AAF in a different location?
It is also worth checking that those clips are indeed still there and haven't been moved since you created the XML.

If you go into your Mac "settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders" and then add X2Pro to the list that should help it gain access. If for some reason that doesn't fix it, see if adding X2Pro to "Privacy & Security > Full Disk Access" helps.

Hi there !

Can someone help me:
I followed the preferences indications to convert .xml to .aaf.
I can see all the video and audio files in FCP and when I convert to .aaf I have this message error (see photos attached).

When I open the .aaf file in Pro Tools, I can see that some files are linked but not all of them (see photos attached).

I'm not able to link the files properly in the Relink section.
And there is no way to link them manually even if I have all the data on the same hard drive.
I can see all the blank clips on the tracks but they won't re link to the original audio files.
I have this name instead:
---file location unknown----...

Does someone already have the same issue or an idea ?

Thanks and I wish you a nice day.
Rozenn
