Why should I pay a second time?

If you still had version 1 installed on your Mac, then version 2 should have shown up as a (free) update when you went to the app store.

If you had removed version 1 from your computer, then version 2 would not show as an update, but when you search, it should show as free because you have already bought version 1.

There is no trial version available from the app store. What makes you think you have to pay again?

Do I understand that users of version 1 are entitled to a free upgrade to the 2nd? Here is what was written in the letter that I received when I got the 2nd version: All purchasers of Version 1.1 at $99.99 will be able to upgrade for free. I downloaded the 2nd version from the App Store, and it worked, but it now appears that this was a trial version, and I have to pay. Why?
