Hiya, Just a quick update. I haven't had time to look any more at this issue since I haven't looked at sound.
Hope to have time to look at it with the new version. Best wishes
/Andreas

Looking at the console output it seems that there is a problem with X2Pro accessing some of the file contents as there are many instances of this type of message:

Brents-MacBook-Pro kernel[0]: Sandbox: X2Pro Audio Conv(421) deny file-read-data /Volumes/2014 48 Hour Film/RAW/A4/A004_0101NV.RDM/A004_C009_01010R.RDC/A004_C009_01010R.RMD\

There is a known problem with spanned R3D files and scoped bookmarks in Mavericks which may have been fixed by Apple, if you can upgrade to the latest versions of Maverics, FCPX (Released on Friday) and X2pro (released today) and try again then you may find that this problem no longer exists.

Was a solution found to this problem? I also just ran into this problem with a .r3d project - and in my case, it appears that this was more than just a cosmetic problem - the AAF file was actually missing some content. It's possible that those two things are unrelated, but it is an interesting coincidence.

I captured the system.log in a text file -

Attachment x2proerrorlogfromconsole.rtf not found

- if that would be helpful to review

Yes, 63GB might be a bit big...

I have sent you a private message with FTP details.

Hi

Yes, I will find another clip that has the same problem because this clip is 63GB big. I have seen this problem quite often so should be able to find a smaller clip. Red Epic in all its 5k glory...

Thundoor,

If I give you FTP details, would you be able to upload the two clips that are in those screenshots?

Hi Graeme!
Yes you are right of course, the clip is 8 minutes long, sorry!
However there is audio the whole duration of the clip. I open it right click /Open in Timeline and the sound stretches the whole way from the start until the end.

I tried stretching the video clip so its 1.5 minutes long in FCPX and then actually only 32 seconds of the audio shows up in Pro Tools, the rest has indeed been cut off.
I'm sending in screenshots of how it looks in FCPX and Pro Tools and then the export xml file. You can see that there is audio in FPCX all the way. Maybe X2Pro gets confused that one of the sound channels is silent (I only have a scratch track on one channel).

This is a very simple test scene so it only has those 2 clips after another.
This happens for quite many of the clips I have, maybe 20%.
I'm using FCPX 10.1.1 and latest X2Pro 2.2 on Maverick.
/Andreas

That timecode (00:08:15:20.00) appears to be 8 minutes, 15 seconds and 20 frames, not 8 seconds. Perhaps I have misunderstood you?

• Is the clip really 8 seconds long in FCP X, or is it longer but you are only using 8 seconds of it?
• Does the audio in that clip play throughout the whole clip, or does it go silent before the end?

I'm getting this warning on many files
• The duration of asset [A020_C001_0212TT] was reduced to 32.949583 seconds as there was insufficient audio in the asset.
This may be as a result of the media being recorded at one frame rate and used at another. e.g recorded at 24 FPS but used at 23.976 FPS.

This is a Red file that has a mono sound in it. Its only 8 seconds long (00:08:15:20.00).

So it looks very strange that it wants to reduce its length to 32.949 seconds when its actually 8. Also its 23.976fps recorded both sound and video on camera so it cannot be a problem with that either. Often when I export I get tons of these errors.
Any idea what is going on?
