Georg,
I have tried that file on a project in my system, and it doesn't convert, but it doesn't crash either. It seems to get stuck in the stage where it says "Parsing Final Cut XML..." and never moves on from there.
The mp4 file does seem a bit odd though; in a few places the video goes wrong (blocky corruption). It is especially bad at 1:58:14-1:59:01. Is there corruption there when you look at it, or has something gone wrong in the upload/download of the file?

Hi Georg,
That's great that you managed to work around it, but it would be good if we could find the reason for the crash and try to avoid it in future.
Would you be able to let us take a look that at clip, or is it very large?
Graeme

Hi Graeme,
Update - I exported section by section from my timeline and was finally able to identify a corrupt clip (the name was 00213a). So glad it works now. Thanks for your support.
Best
Georg

Hi Graeme,
Thanks for the continued support. I am out of the office right now for another production and will return by the end of the month. I will get that console file for you when I am back.
Best regards
Georg

Georg,
I am able to convert that fcpxml now (without the media), so it could be a problem extracting audio...
It would be useful to get hold of a a console log if you are able to provide that. To save the console log to a file in order to attach it:

- Close X2Pro.
- Start the Console app from /Applications/Utilities/Console.app.
- On the left side, select "All Messages" from the top of the list (if the list is missing you may have to "Show Log List" from the icon in the top left or from the "View" menu.)
- Click the clear display button at the op of the window (or press CMD+K).
- Start X2Pro and try to convert your project.
- After it crashes, switch back to the console app and from the "File" menu, choose "Save a Copy As..." (or press CMD+SHIFT+S.)
- Save the file and attach it to a forum post.

Dear Graeme,
Thanks for testing the xml file. Interesting that your system displays an error report but mine crashes straight away. I have found the offending audition and removed it. But X2Pro still crashes without any error message. I am attaching the files here.
I have to leave for another production today but will return in 3 weeks and will pick up this thread again. Deadline for this job will approach almost immediately after my return.
Thanks
Georg

I don't get a crash when I try to convert that fcpxml on my system, but I do get a message that there is an unfinalized audition at 00:31:14.04 which must be finalized before X2Pro can convert the project.
Can you try finalizing that audition in FCP X, exporting a new fcpxml and running that new fcpxml through X2Pro. If you still have issues, please attach that new fcpxml.

Are there any error messages from X2Pro? If so, can you copy/paste them.
Can you attach the contents of your console log as that might give us some clues as to why it's crashing.
Can you attach your FCPXML that causes it to crash?

I am quite disappointed with X2Pro so far. It keeps crashing no matter what. Created an XML of a 52 minute documentary and it crashed a few seconds after I started conversion. I tried to disable different roles, no joy. Even with only one simple voice over role selected it crashes every time.
I do have compound clips and I do have synchronized clips in there. I hope this software is capable of handling this...
I don't have much time messing with this as I have a deadline to catch. Quite frustrating...
Using FCPX 10.1.2 and OSX 10.9.4
