The AAF is on our FTP server. I sent you a private message telling you how to access it on our FTP server.

The extended metadata view won't make any difference to the AAF that X2Pro creates, and won't make any difference to the audio files that are embedded within it.

Thanks Graeme. Here is a link to the extended metadata view of the file...please try again and send me the results by PM so the sound people can upload the file to pro tools and see for themselves. Thank you kindly.

I can see that scene, take, note , and ubits are still present and correct in the wavs created by Pro Tools when it extracts the audio from the AAF. Scene and note were empty in all your wavs, so are empty in the wavs created by Pro Tools

The value of "tape" has replaced with the original wav file name (excluding the extension).

I also need all the media used in the sequence to convert your project. The clips I would need are:
  1. D9016_3.wav
  2. D9001601.mov
  3. D9016_1.wav
  4. D9016_2.wav

All these clips are on a disk called
TJOTB_EDITOR_TP
in the folder
/TJOTB_EDITOR_TP/TJOTB Media/Audio/TJOTB - AUDIO/TJOTB - DAY 3 - AUDIO/
or
/TJOTB_EDITOR_TP/TJOTB Media/Videos/TJOTB - PRORESHQ - VIDEOS/TJOTB - PRORESHQ - DAY 3 - VIDEOS/

Are you talking about BWF metadata in WAV files? X2Pro will include BWF metadata information when it embeds the audio in the AAF. When Pro Tools extracts that audio from the AAF, the BWF metadata will be present and the WAV files created by Pro Tools will contain the original BWF metadata.

X2Pro embeds all the audio tracks in the AAF in a way that Pro Tools is able to use. If you choose to reference WAV audio instead of embed it in the AAF, and you choose to reference multi-channel WAV files, Pro Tools may have trouble accessing the audio from every track in the multi-channel WAV file. This can be avoided by embedding the audio from all WAV files, or just the multi-channel WAV files, in the AAF (which is the default option anyway).

There is no trial version, but if this has not answered your questions and you are able to provide a short fcpxml using a very short clip, I might be able to convert it and send you back the AAF. If this interests you and you have no way of providing the files I can provide FTP details?

Apologies about that....I shall rephrase:

After transferring the audio to AAF using X2 Pro, will the AAF file keep the metadata information such as timecode, date of recording that is present in the audio file etc...?

Will Pro Tools open various separate channels of audio once exported?

I will need to test that ...is there a trial version?

I can't figure out exactly what you are asking...

Basically if the audio plays in FCP X, it will be present in the AAF created by X2Pro.

Will the X2 LE send out all the meta data and separate audio channels to Pro Tools?

If i have synched 1 mono audio track and 1 stereo track linked to the video to 1 synched mono track effectively creating 2 separate mono audio tracks and 2 separate stereo tracks linked to the 1 track linked to 2 synched tracks will the export to Pro tools open the file to 2 separate mono tracks and 2 separate stereo tracks? Sorry about the long question....
