Mark,

Glad it's working now; Thanks for letting us know.

We're working on making X2Pro able to process XMLs like the one you were originally trying to convert, and displaying a better message if it's not able to. This feature will probably be in the next release.

Every time we release a new version of X2Pro to include features or improvements like this, all the existing reviews on the app store are hidden behind an "All Versions" button. We would be very grateful if you could help us out by finding the time to leave a review or a star rating on the app store.

Thanks

It worked! I assumed when you export as XML it always exports the entire project.

Anyway, thanks for your prompt assistance! :-)

Mark,

It looks like you may have exported the wrong kind of XML from FCP X.

Can you please try again, but this time make sure your project is selected before you export the XML. You can select your project by either clicking in your project timeline or selecting your project in your event.

When you export your FCPXML, there is a window where you choose where to save the XML, this window tells you what the "Source" of the XML is. The source should be the same name as your project and the icon should be a folder with a film strip in. If the icon is a purple square with 1 or 4 white stars in, or if there is no icon at all, then you don't have your project selected.

Please let us know whether this allows you to convert your project. If you can confirm this, we can look into making some changes in X2Pro to detect this and explain to the user what they need to do.

Hi there,

I've never used X2ProLE before, so forgive me if the problem is on my side.

I did follow the basic instructions, but when I attempt to start the conversion it gives me this error (also see attached screenshot).

An error occurred converting from Final Cut XML to AAF
Writing AAF file
Adding tracks to AAF file
Writing AAF track structure
Creating AAF tracks
AAF track has length 183480 edit units but sequence length is 163583 edit units

No AAF file has been generated.
