Can it be played with QuickTime Player 7?
It already is a mov file (2014-03-02 17_35_54 (id).mov)
How large is the file? Would you be able to let us take a look at it?

Can it be played with QuickTime Player 7?
X2Pro uses the QTKit framework to extract the audio from mov files and so does QuickTime Player 7, so if it can't play it, we will know that the problem is with QTKit or the mov file itself.
The "latest version of Quicktime" (QuickTime Player X) doesn't use the QTKit framework, it uses the AVFountation framework so it's not very similar to X2Pro in the way that it works.
The fact that the "latest version of Quicktime" can't play it would indicate that it's not a valid mov file. Are you sure that it can be played in FCP X?

Can the clip be played in QuickTime Player 7?
You can download QuickTime Player 7 from here if your system only has QuickTime Player X installed
