Hello Greame,
I've red on Motunation forum that perhaps the last update of DP9 could read the AAF and OMF files that it couldn't before.
I've made a test with the file you sent me a few months ago, but no change, unfortunately. There's still no sound in the opened file.
Did you have a contact with MOTU recently ?
Thanks,
Best regards
Christophe

I've had a very good phone contact with the new french MOTU hot line (
www.ims-distribution.com
).
They will call MOTU US very soon.
Maybe if you call MOTU US too, things will move for dp users who want to use X2pro…
Thanks
Best reagards

That's what I've done a few days ago, but got no answer yet.
Could I suggest you also could contact MOTU ? As a developer, I think you could access to more efficient details.
The best argument for my side is some users don't want to move to ProTools, but they are constrained.
Thank again,
Hope we'll talk again soon about a good new of compatibility ;)

The file should have contained 3 clips so unfortunately it looks like DP had a problem opening it.
The AAF definitely is valid because Pro Tools and a few other programs (e.g. Logic, Nuendo, etc) can open it correctly.
I would suggest contacting the makers of DP and asking them why it doesn't open the file properly.

You're right, the links must have been broken when the website was updated. Try the attached file instead which I just created with the latest version of X2Pro.BERLY wrote: It was not possible to download the files in attached…

To clarify; I was not saying that Digital Performer can open X2Pro's AAFs. We don't have Digital Performer to test with here, so I was suggesting that you tried it yourself with the sample AAFs.
I would be interested to know how you get on when you try it.

Thanks for this answer Greame. I'm so glad to read that !
As I can remember, it was on the Unicornation forum and maybe somewhere in this forum if I remember well.
No matter, if it works for DP it's a very good new. You should mention DP in the list of DAW, isn't it ? it would be reassuring.
I will try the files you send me tomorrow.
It was not possible to download the files in attached…
Thanks again !
Best regards,
Christophe

Hi Christophe,
Where have you read that DP doesn't accept X2Pro's AAFs?
Have you tried opening an AAF created by X2Pro in Digital Performer? There are a couple of examples of AAFs created by old versions of X2Pro that you could try attached to this post . The structure of the AAF isn't likely to have changed much since those versions.

Hello,
I'm moving from FCP 7 to FCP X.
I'm mixing movies on DP for years.
I wanted to bye X2Pro when I read that DP would not accept these AAF files.
Is there a chance to be able to use X2pro to convert XML for Digital Performer one day ?
Thanks
Best regards
Christophe
