Thank you.

I have finished adding the feature request to our system and have told the product manager. We'll keep you updated on any progress.

It should be under tape.

FCPX does get the metadata from the BWF, so it is there.
the data is actually also in the aaf, but apparently not in a way pro tools understand.

I just know that it is a know and major issue for sounddesigners - they use a lot of time in reconnecting to their original files.
Thanks for adding it to the feature request list - do you know any contacts that might rush this through to the next update?

Where would you expect the Tape/Reel information to be in Pro Tools?

...having said that; it looks like Pro Tools might only extract the Channel, Scene and Take names from the BWF metadata. It also looks like X2Pro doesn't pass the "TAPE" metadata through which is what X2Pro uses to populate the Reel field.

I don't think it's on the list of feature requests yet. I will add it to the list for you.

There none of the "metadata" from FCP X makes it into the AAF except obvious things like clip names/timecodes/etc. Roles are also used to sort tracks, so that comes through to the AAF.

Where does FCP X get this reel metadata from? Is it from BWF metadata in the audio file? If so then this may end up in Pro Tools because we do pass BWF data through.

It that a future feature in X2Pro?
It is a pretty important thing in any workflow.
Is there any columns in FCPx where I can add the reel, so it comes through to the aaf?
I can see that the FCPX XML does contain the reel, so the information is available

Here you go.
I have synced the clip via sync-n-link x.
It is though the same if i haven't synced it.

We have found the "Reel" in the extended metadata list so you don't need to attach a screen grab now.

X2Pro does not support translation of this metadata into the AAF.

Can you please attach a screen grab of the metadata in FCP?

Hello
I have a fcpx project where I have synced polyfiles to some amira footage. FCPx reads the reel of the sound correct - i.e. 12Y12M11.
When I export the xml - make the aaf through X2Pro and import it in protools, the tape (reel) is replaced by the clipname.
How do I get the correct metadata into protools.

I appreciate any help.
