Hi Graeme

Thanks very much for getting back to me.

It's 4.5GB being client material is best not shared in full, but I could send you a short section (export from FCP X, which is the only thing that can now read it) if it helped.

But not to worry unless it would help you for future reference to investigate this one, as I've devised a workaround involving exporting Roles - very far from ideal but it will get the job done. I'm sure you've got better things to do than worry about FCP X's foibles - I know I have!

How large is the file? Would you like us to take a look at it?

UPDATE: This is a problem created by FCP X and nothing to do with X2Pro - for some unaccountable reason FCP X has rewritten the file header for the source audio such that nothing else can now read it.

Thanks.

The source (provided by the client) is a 5.1 interleaved dialogue stem at 60fps (don't ask why!); all my media handling prefs are as they should be; I've tried every possible pref config; X2Pro can see my media location; I've made a test FCP X project with nothing in it except one small clip from this source and it still won't convert. I get the "not a WAV file, too many audio channels" error, or alternatively the "Error opening asset" error.

I've also trashed the X2Pro prefs folder for good measure.

I've verified that X2Pro is working otherwise by creating a project with a single SFX file and that works fine. EDIT: I've just tried creating a project with a newly created 5.1 interleaved WAV file and it exports just fine - so something problematic about this media clearly, but what?

Problem XML attached.

Any help much appreciated.
