When importing the AAF in Pro Tools, you must make sure that you have "Import Volume Automation" turned on. See attached screen grab; I drawn an arrow pointing to the option that is probably turned off on the audio mixer's Pro Tools when they import the AAF.

X2Pro also puts some audio adjustments in as "Clip Gain" (if the whole clip had it's volume changed), so the option to "Import Clip Gain" should also be turned on if you want to include this information.

Thanks Graeme.

I find this really interesting because at that current edit, my audio mixer did not saw that edit into his audio session in protools

I really don't know anything about ProTools, but do you know if you must do something different to import these AAF to keep all that information ?

Audio adjustments like the one in your screenshot are applied as automation gain in the AAF. It's easier to see automation gain in Pro Tools than it is in Media Composer. You may also get sync issues opening the AAF in Media Composer because edits must be made on frame boundaries.

If you attach your fcpxml, I can check whether the automation gain is applied in the AAF and send you a screenshot of what it looks like in Pro Tools?

Hi !

We have a problem here.

sometimes, when the editor make some adjustment of volume in FCX with keyframe, these adjustment are not shown in Protools. So the audio mixeur doesn't know that we are suppose to change volume at this right place.

here a Screenshot of the clip in question in FCX:

The mixer told me that he did not see these right change here. However, I don't have protools to look that by myself, but I know that AVID MC can open the AAF (clip are offline, but at least I can see the timeline) And this show the same thing that my mixeur told me.

Screenshot of Avid:

What can we do to avoid that situation ?

Thank you
