This is likely to be because your MP4 files contains uncompressed audio. Is it from a Sony camera?

You'll probably find that Quicktime Player 7 is unable to play the file but Quicktime Player X can.

The next version of X2Pro should be able to cope with this type of file, but until that is available, a workaround is to change the extension of the clip files from MP4 to MOV, and get FCP to relink to the MOV files. X2Pro should then be able to convert the project. Obviously you should back up your project and media files before trying the workaround.
