Neither of those FCPXMLs give me an error about asset r170, so I assume that they are not the exact same XMLs that you were trying to convert when you got the error message that you posted below. I do get very similar errors about a different asset though...
Scenes40-46.fcpxml:
The issue with asset r4 in your fcpxml is caused by your fcpxml not containing the necessary information in the section where it lists the clips that are used in your project. Asset r4 is the clip called "A039_C003_0426U3" which is used 4 times in the compound clip at the start of the project.
NEStEDMasterSequence8-13-Nested.fcpxml:
This looks like exactly the same issue, with exactly the same clip, except the asset number is different (r177) because there are less clips in the project. Asset r177 is the clip called "A039_C003_0426U3" which is used 4 times in the compound clip called "SC 040 - 042 EDITED Clip"
I don't know how FCP has created invalid fcpxmls like these, but if you import it back into FCP and look at that clips in the inspector panel, you will see that they have an audio tab, but the channel configuration section is empty, which shouldn't be possible (if there is an audio tab, there must be some channels of audio). This indicates the FCP doesn't really know what to do with this fcpxml either.
As a workaround, could you try removing that clip from your project and putting it back in? This may be enough to get FCP to create a valid fcpxml.

I've uploaded two FCPXML's.
The first is the entire master sequence and the second is what seems to be the section giving me trouble. When I started exporting the audio in 15min chunks I noticed scenes 40-46 would not let me use the FCPXML.

Could you please provide your FCPXML?
There is going to be a reference in the XML "r170" that is giving us the problems.
If you ca provide the XML, I will take a look for you.

Not sure why this message is coming up when I export an XML. First time using x2pro LE within FCP and would appreciate any tips or tricks to getting an AAf to pro tools.
Final Cut 10.2.1
X2ProLE 2.5.1
Begin Error Message...
Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information
Details:
Getting asset with Id r170
Unable to find asset with Id r170
Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);
