Glad to hear that you have it working now. The problem was not because the clips were corrupted, but because they were MTS files.

X2Pro uses Apple's QTKit framework to extract the audio from clips and QTKit doesn't understand how to process MTS files (as you found out, QuickTime Player also doesn't understand how to process MTS files). When you exported the clips from FCP and re-imported them, you worked around the issue by re-wrapping them as MOV files, which QTKit (and in turn X2Pro) understands.

Until X2Pro supports MTS files, we recommend that MTS files are re-wrapped as MOVs before using them in FCP so that X2Pro is able to extract the audio and then you won't hit this problem in future.

I was actually able to solve my own problem, and will share the results for anyone else having a similar problem.

Basically I was working with two clips that were corrupted. They still played in final cut pro x (which would never happen in say... avid). And would export through the "share" tab. But would not work when run through X2pro.

My solution to the problem was exporting the corrupted clips as master files through final cut pro x, and then re-importing them into FCP. Then, I relinked them in the project timeline to the corrupted clip files, and it worked fine.

I guess I'm not 100% sure it was a corrupted media problem. But the VLC files were not opening in quicktime, whereas all the others did... So there was something uniquely wrong with those two clips.

My apologies for your troubles.
Can you please copy your FCPXML and the text from your X2Pro error message?

Hello. First time poster. I was working on my first project through final cut pro x (biggest mistake of my life), before I realized it can't export AAF's... I just couldn't believe it. Anyways, I'll skip the rant for now.

I need professional audio people to edit my sound. Professional audio people use pro-tools. I bought X2pro to export an AAF.

The problem: Every time I try converting the XML file, I get an error message on the same two clips that says "this is not a video file". Except it IS a video file-- shot on the Canon C100. So how do I fix this? I'm open to any and all suggestions!

Thanks in advance.
