I must thank you again, I'm not giving names but this is how every technical support should work, your company should be proud of you.

1) The usual compound clip I've talking about (1 stereo disabled from camera, 4 mono sources apparently mixed all in one channel)
2) Same as before with the audio from camera erased
3) The four audio mono compounded into a clip and then compounded again with the video
4) Same as before with the audio from camera erased
5) Audio separated and broken apart
6) Same as 4th clip with fades on expanded audio (to test this)
7) Same as 4th clip with fades on expanded components (one of them)
I guess this would work to find out how it comes into an aaf even you don't have the footage since you are asking for it, in case you need the audio clips or something please let me know.
Thanks very much!!

Would you like to attach an fcpxml that contains one of these clips on it's own in a project, and I'll try converting it in X2Pro and show you what I get in Pro Tools?

I'm sorry to bother, but the first question still looks blurry to me. You say that X2pro will put all the audio channels from the compound clip in the AAF, and that's the point of my question, this compound clip is configured as having two channels, not the four mono audio I find if I dig into his own timeline. That's why I'm afraid and sorry to ask again but I understand you say it will output the mono audio despite showing just one channel for them in the inspector right?

Yes; X2Pro will put all the audio channels from your compound clip in the AAF.Oscar wrote: My question is how this would show up in ProTools? Would X2Pro override this two channel configuration and show the four audio mono or it will not?
This first option should be fineOscar wrote: Which way would be the recommended in order to translate the 4 sources and its adjustments (levels, fades) in Pro Tools?
It shouldn't matter, X2Pro should apply the fade handles, no matter where they are applied.Oscar wrote: My last question is I've seen you can use fade handles with audio expanded or with components expanded. If you set a fade with audio expanded it won't show up visually when the components are expanded although it sounds like been there, it is the same case if you do it the way around. Which is the proper place to set fades and keep them in the AAF?

I have already all the footage set as compound clips having one video clip and usually up to four audio sources (2 booms, 2 lavs). The weird thing is that once in a storyline this clips would just show two channels, one for the reference audio of the camera which is disabled and another I believe a mix of the other four. If I open the clip in his own timeline it reveals the four mono audio, but in the storyline, when components are expanded it just shows those two mentioned channels.
My question is how this would show up in ProTools? Would X2Pro override this two channel configuration and show the four audio mono or it will not?
I have a second option which is the only way I managed to properly set the clip to view the channels in the storyline. The only way I found to do it is to create a compound clip of only the audio sources and then compound this new clip again with the video. Doing it this way it shows up the 4 mono audio in the inspector and when the components are expanded. Although, if this is opened in its timeline it doesn't have straight access to the four 4 mono audio but instead it shows the video and the compound clip of the 4 audio. So, even though I can manage channels in the main storyline, X2Pro still we'll need to dig inside the compound and I'm not sure how this would work.
Which way would be the recommended in order to translate the 4 sources and its adjustments (levels, fades) in Pro Tools?
