Hi everybody,
Sometimes, I'm using audio cds from a library. Those files are recorded @44100kHz. Once transcoded with X2Pro and opened up with Nuendo, the project is completely wrong. Same thing happens with some media sources on the web.
What I suggest is convert these files before importing them into FCPX to 48kHz.
Here is a Droplet made with Compressor 4 to convert @48kHz.
Simply drag the audio file on it and wait for a converted file. :)
Nuendo loved it!

I did, we'll be posting a video tutorial on our YouTube channel by tomorrow morning (hopefully tonight, Utah time.) It's actually just a dialog that automatically pops up for us on import.
It gives you a yes/no with the question to extract the audio (yes,) or reference it (no.) Click no, and you should be off to the races.
Also, when importing the AAF, you'll need to create a new project. But I'm pretty sure that's just Nuendo's default behavior.

Chris,
Thanks for the reply! We've gotten X2Pro AAF's into Nuendo, with a little workflow fun. Nuendo requires you to open a new session on import, and you have to reference the audio. If you attempt to import/embed the audio, it gets cranky.
We're going to spend some time today seeing if we can get the bit-rates working properly, I'll let you know if we can get anything working.
Unfortunately, no contacts at Steinberg.
Thanks again!

Alan, thanks for your interest.
We have not tested against Nuendo, but have had reports from others that sound like Nuendo cannot handle embedded audio. Have you succeeded in taking an X2Pro AAF into Nuendo? I am trying to contact Steinberg, but have not managed to make contact yet, so if you know anyone there I would really appreciate an introduction.
Unless the audio is not PCM we do not touch the samples at all, just embed the whole media into the AAF, so not sure why they would playback wrong.

Curious about bit-rate handling in both X2Pro and FCPX, namely:
In FCPX, you create a project and can set a bit rate (48 kHz, 96 kHz, etc...) Currently (going into Nuendo too, btw) differing bit-rates in the same project do not play back properly.
FCPX of course just seems to take care of all that in the background.
Any plans for a fix for that, or do we just need to make sure that we record everything at the same bit-rate, etc...?
