Can you please try removing all your media locations from the preferences, then try again. It may prompt you to add media locations again when you try again.

Please let me know whether that makes any difference.

I recently started getting this error. the drive the assets are on is listed is the Media Locations.

I am exporting from FCPX 10.3.2 to create the 1.5 XML version, but I have tried 1.6 XML version as well.
I have also updated to X2 4.0.17
