Same workaround...
Do you think trying to create AFF without excluding some role could help !!!

I have gathered a workaround issue on your case. It is actually a bug that has been already resolved
Here is a workaround you can use.
Workaround for Assertion 1100 anmd 1004 AAF Import
1. Create a New Session
2. Do an Import Session Data of the AAF file, you'll get an Assertion Error after doing the import, but you can just bypass that error.
3. Do a Save Copy In of the new session
4. Work on the Saved Copy In session.
Note, if you open the New Session, where you initially did the Import Session Data, you'll instantly get an Assertion Error upon opening that session
This looks like a similar workaround to what you suggested for creating the new session and importing session data, except maybe a bit quicker.

I have opened a support case with Avid and so far they don't seem to be sure of what the problem is. I will let you know if anything comes of it.
Thanks

We would really appreciate it, if you could advise Avid of the issue you experienced, this was raised by Yogi previously with an Avid ticket of 03139575, it just helps much more if an issue is reported directly by an end user rather than from ourselves.
Yours sincerely
James

We will chase Avid again, in the meantime there is a workaround that Yogi discovered that should get you up and running.
If you import the AAF into PT and dismiss the error, you should see everything ok, but you will need to save it. You will then need to create new and import session data using the session you just saved, this should work.
Please advise.
Yours sincerely
James
