That is REALLY helpful information Daniel - thank you!!
I apologize, Cynical Smile.....I didn't mean to hi-jack your post. I thought it may be a similar issue, but clearly it's not.
Daniel if you want me to re-post my questions on a different thread - I can!
I am attaching the Report here.....It states "conform rates have not been applied" once towards the end of the document, but our mixer says he had drift on 75% of the show!!?? Are there any clues here?
Thanks so much!

Hey Daniel.
Let me clarify:
There was no conform happening anywhere.
The clips are 23.98.
The timeline is 23.98.
The output file (REF CUT) is 23.98.
The audio is all from the video clips, except for the music. So there isn't a problem there either.
There was NO CONFORM ERROR listed by X2PRO.
I've used X2PRO many times in the past and it worked fine.
Can we try this again with another test you can check?

When you convert your projects, X2Pro should produce a warning message saying "conform rates have not been applied" and will list the time code this appears.
A conformed clip is one that FCP X has automatically retimed because the frame rate of the clips was very close the the frame rate of the project. For example when a 23.98fps clip is used in a 25fps project, FCP X will play the clip at just over 104% speed. FCP X does not alert the user when it conforms clips.
X2Pro doesn't support retiming or conforming, and clips will be at the original speed in the AAF. This is likely to cause a sync issue, so if any clips were retimed/conformed, the conversion report will list each one and the time code that it appears in the project so that the audio finisher knows what to look for when they open the AAF.
If you converted the frame rates of your clips to match your project before you used them in FCP, then FCP wouldn't have to conform the clips when you use them in your project, and there would be no sync issues in the AAF after you convert your project in X2Pro.
Hope this explains the problem,
Daniel

That's super strange.
I just triple-checked all the source material.
It's all 23.98.
The timeline I'm working in, the exported MP4 as reference cut; it's all 23.98.
It shouldn't be 25FPS at all.
Would be ok to run a NEW test to start fresh to verify everything?
I really need to get this sorted out because X2Pro is… well incredibly important to the workflow of finishing any project I'm doing.

Hi,
I am having a similar issue exporting AAFs to ProTools where certain clips are drifting. It is a complex project with different frame rates running on a 25fps timeline.....so my question is:
Are the AAFs that are exported from FCP via X2Pro sourced from the original media i.e. the audio files at their original frame rates?....rather than the frame rate that the Project is set to??
That may help us troubleshoot our drift issues.
Thanks
Sherril

Let me try this again to make sure you have all the correct info.
The problem is the sync.
The AAF isn't sync-ing with the reference cut.
I've checked the frame rates and the audio tracks and everything should line up.
I double checked the reference MP4 in my timeline and it still lines up.
Here's the AAF that was sent:

Here's the MP4 as a reference cut (you can download from this link):

Hi Cynical,
I managed to open the .aaf you sent in Pro Tools HD v12.8.1 and we can't see an issue here. ( See screenshot attached). Can you advise where the issue is?
The .mp4 appears to have no audio at all is this correct? Whilst the .mov appears to be completely fine.
Thanks,
Daniel

Hello.
I've been using X2PRO for a few years. Never had an issue until the last few projects.
For some reason it's not sync-ing in PRO TOOLS.
Tried both 1.5 and 1.6 of FCPXML.
No errors in the conversion.
The particular test I'm doing with my audio team only has 48khz files.
Here's a link to what I sent to the audio team.
spaces.hightail.com/receive/FdTSpQ8FGW/fi-57d12581-765b-4563-8999-c297556f359f/fv-70091c50-8806-493f-9f3a-48c7a063a488/GENERATIONS_TAIPEI_v4_TEST_AUDIO_102317.aaf
Here's what they sent back to show what's happening:
spaces.hightail.com/receive/lf2zbvrRT9/fi-e44953b7-36b5-4444-b5f7-a0eaf8a1eeb1/fv-0ccef8c3-da13-4b23-a400-7694d5d92f31/BOUNCE.zip
I'm running the version of X2PRO just before 4.0.32 on the conversions above.
I JUST updated to run another test.
Audio team is using PRO TOOLS 10.
Would love to get this sorted out ASAP as I use this for many projects, including a few more coming up. I'm on a deadline for this particular project so I doubt the problem will get sorted in time.
