Hi Morten,
Unfortunately we have to use AVFoundation (from Apple) if it cannot open the file then neither can X2Pro. The only work around is to convert the media to a format that AVFoundation is able to read. If you could approach Apple directly and request support for CRM within AVFoundation then they might add support for it. We have requested this ourselves, and the more people that request this, especially customers, the more likely it will happen.

Hi Morten,
We seem to be unable to import any CRM files into FCPX. Im assuming there is plugins we can install to get it into FCPX, but unfortunely that wont help with getting X2Pro to be able to read it. There isn't much we can do about this because we use Apples AVFoundation and unfortunately AVFoundation doesn't support CRM files. For us to be able to work with Canon files we would need Apple to update AVFoundation with support for Canon files, or for Canon themselves to release an SDK which we could download and build into Worx4 X and X2Pro.
At the moment the only thing we can suggest is to transcode your media, import that into your project and then use X2Pro to get the audio into an AAF.

Dear Morten,
Apologies but I am a little confused here as the application always writes a .txt file with the same name as the AAF in the location you asked the AAF to be created, its functionality that cannot be enabled or disabled. As you are able to create an AAF then access and rights to the location where the AAF has been created must be ok for the .txt file to be created, which is the only reason I could see it couldn't be created.
When you run the application and ask for the AAF to be created, can you copy the contents of the pop up and post it here (as essentially that is the contents of the .txt file).
Failing all else would you be able to upload one or two pieces of the CRM media and the FCPXML to our ftp site if we forward you privately the details ?
Yours sincerely
James

Hi James
Would love to give you the .txt but its not there.... I have tested with many XML til AAF and no .txt......
I put the CRM in my Video editor, so converting them before is a poor solution. CRM is raw, I would loose a lot of grading data.
Tell me how I can generate the .txt
So we can find a solution

Dear Morten,
Not sure why you wouldn't get a .txt file as one gets created for every AAF creation attempt. However fundamentally it may well be that AV foundation cannot read the CRM files correctly. If this is the case then the CRM files will need to be converted to something AV foundation can read. An example would be to use something like Adobe Media Encoder to transcode the CRM files into some other format, then re-import these clips back into a final cut project.
Yours sincerely
