Dear Helge,
Apologies for the late update, we were able to create AAF's from the xml's you supplied, we also used your fcpbundle to create an XML and subsequently an AAF, all looked good in PT. I think the issue must therefore have been in Nuendo.
Yours sincerely
James

Hi Helge,
What exact version of Catalina are you running? It would be good to know for us to compare with the version we are running.
Many thanks

Hi James, I have this problem on both mojave and catalina. So not MacOS related I think.
also I have all newest version of Nuendo from 8 and up to the latest 10.3, and some other versions.... all the same problem.
so it has either to do with fcpxml1.9, FCPX10.4.9/10 or X2Pro.... I guess. (well I have the same problems on fcpxml1.8 so I guess I can rule that out... so that leaves FCPX or X2Pro... and if you guys have no changed anything, then it has to be apples fcpx...

Hi, I only use it with Nuendo. I have used this workflow for many years now. And it has never failed me until now...
Darn, I don't know what to do...

Hi Helge,
We've been looking into the files you have sent us, and we have been unable to reproduce your issue. Recreating an xml with your clips or using the xml/aaf's you sent us all came out in Pro Tools.
Are you trying to open the AAFs in Nuendo? We only support/test against Pro Tools so we can't say how our AAF creation will work in other audio finishing tools.

Dear felles
Do you have a sample XML and source clip that demonstrates this, if so would you be able to make these available to us to investigate.
Many thanks

I can confirm this. Right now I have to use vordio to get files out...
My problem is related to muted channels on the clip.
I have Sony FS-7 with 8 ch. If I only use 2 channel (the rest is removed on import), and then mute ch1 to use only ch2... the AAF will fail.
If I leave all on, then it works.

Hi Bcahill,
Unfortunately we are unable to work with Canon files. We use Apples AVFoundation and it currently doesn't support CRM files/fully support all MXFs. For us to be able to work with Canon files we would need Apple to update AVFoundation with support for Canon files, or for Canon themselves to release an SDK which we could download and build into X2Pro. As for a workaround, the best thing to do is to convert the files to a simple format that AVFoundation supports (converting with quicktime is an easy option).
Apologies for the inconvenience.

I believe I am having a similar problem with the audio coming from the Canon c500 Mark II. This is the error I'm getting:
Writing AAF file
Adding assets to AAF file
Adding essence for asset [A001C018_2002211Q_CANON] to AAF file
Opening audio extractor for portion 0 of asset [A001C018_2002211Q_CANON]
Failed to initialise audio extractor with default bit depth of 16
Error Setting up for audio extraction (Cannot Open)
Suggestion: Does this movie contain an unsupported audio format ?
No AAF file has been generated.
X2Pro Audio Convert 4.4.3
What are my options to work around this? Thanks
