Hmm that is odd, I am able to export the xml here and drop it into X2Pro okay here.

I selected the project so it was highlighted yellow and did a "File< Export XML" to desktop and then just dragged it into X2pro. If you do it this way does it work?

Hi,

It seems you have exported the library rather than just the project. Make sure you select the project in FCPX before exporting a FCPXML

hello james,
Thank you for your quick response.
I tried to import it again into final cut and it worked just fine. I even tried to send the new imported XML timeline into x2pro and still got the same error.
The timeline does have a lot of compound clips within it.

Dear mr..light

Is this a valid fcpxml you are trying to use ? If you attempt to import the fcpxml into FCPX what do you see ? Would you be able to attach the xml to the forum please .

Yours sincerely

James

hello im getting this error HELP!

Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information

Details:
Extracting Audio
Extracting audio
Failed to find project element

Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);

X2Pro Audio Convert 4.5.6
