Ok, thank you for your time. I'll reach out to Apple directly.

If it will not even reimport into the application which created it then it is very unlikely that a third party application could accept it. I would suggest that you should contact Apple to find out why this fcpxml is not valid, I'll take a look and see what we can discover but unless the xml is valid X2Pro can't process it.

It doesn't reimport into Final Cut. Starts working then halts and gives me that error I sent you. Attached is the error from X2Pro.

Does the V1.8 XML re-import into FCP? Can I also just check what error message you get from X2Pro? The messages posted so far appear to be from FCPX

I tried your suggestion and while it did not import, it gave me a new error message which I'll attach here along with the 1.8 XML version.

"Encountered an unexpected value. (src="":/fcpxml[1]/resources[1]/asset[181]/@src)

This particular error is normally associated with a bad XML, the first thing to try is to re-import the fcpxml into FCP, I suspect that it will not reimport. If that i sthe case then re-export the project as the XML type which you didn't use the first time (i.e V9 if you used V8 or vice-versa). That may work. If not we can take a look at the XML which you have posted.

Hello,

I'm currently having issues with the XML on my documentary as I'm trying to get it to audio and color finishing. Getting this error message:

Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information

Details:
Asset [nil] has no valid media
Extracting Audio
Extracting audio

Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled

I'm suspecting it's a bad clip in the timeline but I'm not getting any information on where it might be so I can remove it. I attempted to bring the XML back into Final Cut (10.5.2) and received this message.

"This File could not be Imported

DTD validation failed (Element asset content does not follow the DTD, expecting (media-rep+, metadata?), got (

Any assistance or guidance you can offer would be most appreciated!

Thank you,

Josh
