I tried X2PRO on my MacBook also and there is does work. Unfortunately, I can not use that because It has a newer version of FCP and they don't work together. So I have to try it from my Mac Pro.

Does your user have permissions to write to the folder that you are trying to select as your destination folder?
If so, then can you try to select the folder again using the "Browse..." button inside the X2Pro application window?
If you get an error again, take a screen capture of the error and open the Mac Console and copy and send to me any of the details from around the time of the error for the X2Pro application that is in the log.
