X2Pro can't extract Canon RAW Light (CRW) audio

Transcoding certainly works within FCPX. I've just found it to be slower than with the adhoc Canon software.

I have also found that you can create proxies within FCPX (Right click on clip -> transcode media -> create proxy) and then when you export XML for a project that has proxy versions of the CRM media, X2Pro can find the proxy files to use. James explained this too.

Here is my workaround:
- First, I convert CRM files into proxies with Canon RAW Development (set to keep the same name, use Cinema Gamut and Canon Log 3 as export video settings) (pic 0)
- I edited, color corrected and pre-mixed sound of my project with the original CRM files.
- I relink the original CRM files with ProRes proxies (pick 'as original data') in FCPX (you'll notice now in your info tab that 'Codecs' state Apple ProRes, instead of Canon RAW Lite) (pic 1, 2 & 3)
- Then I export a XML file of the timeline for X2pro.

Could you advise how the Proxy workaround worked for you? Do you make sure there are proxies of the CRM files in your project that you want to use audio from, then export the XML? But the CRM is still in the timeline, just with proxy versions created by FCP? That hasn't seemed to enable X2Pro to work for me yet...

Many thanks for getting back, it is a workaround, ideally we would like CRM support in AVFoundation, but that can only happen if Apple are aware there is a need, we have been asking but it would always be a great help if any other FCP users requested support as well from Apple. The other alternative is incorporating an SDK from Canon, we will look at requesting this again.

Just wanted to let you know that the proxy workflow worked. It's a little cumbersome but it's possible to work with transcoded CRM files.

Currently we do not support CRM natively as this is neither supported by AV Foundation, nor have we been able to get an SDK from Canon for this file type, however with the support for 1.9 XMLs in FCPX there may be a workaround.

I've encountered issues while trying to export from an FCPX xml file.
I've shot content with a Canon C200 in 4K Canon Raw Light (CRW), Linear PCM 48Hz.
I've received error message that X2Pro can't extract audio from theses videos files.
Is there any remote possibility that in the future update this video format will be supported?
